SILVER PLATED CRUMB TRAYS x2

Silver plated and manufactured by Prestons of Bolton, founded in 1869 but sadly closed down in 2016. These particular trays date to the mid 20th century and would be a great kitchenalia display piece. Crumb trays were popularised by the Victorians and they became part of the ritual of fine dining. When a guest inadvertently made a mess while cutting their bread for example, the waiting staff would be on hand to sweep up the mess into these highly decorative trays.
